Winemaker's Notes: Our Pinot Noir program is a true labor of love program starting from selecting the vineyard sites, fermentation practices and aging program. Such a delicate grape variety requires a lot of love and attention to detail. In this vintage clonal selection was one of the most crucial elements as our reserve Pinot Noir is a highlight of the earthy side of Pinot Noir. This is achieved through focusing on clones that exude earthiness and we marry this with perfect yeast selection to harness and showcase the beautiful balance of earthiness and silky characteristics.

The fruit for this vintage was sourced from the Riverbench Vineyard located in Santa Maria Valley, CA where cool evenings and warm day lead to the optimum ripening of this glorious Pinot Noir fruit and the creation of a lighter bodied wine. The clonal blend of this bottling is 90% 777 & 667 with the final 10% coming from the Pommard clone which results in a very focused earthy expression of the true essence of Pinot Noir. The Santa Maria Valley is south of Napa Valley and their Pinot Noirs rank highly in the Wine Enthusiast.
